Stowmarket Lions Club Quiz Night – A Fantastic Evening!

Last night, the Stowmarket Lions Club hosted another brilliant Quiz Night, and what an evening it was! A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event – your enthusiasm and good humour made it a night to remember.

Congratulations to the winners!
The top spot went to the talented team from Stowmarket Cricket Club, who proved their quiz skills and took home the honours.

And the wooden spoon…
In true quiz night tradition, the lowest scoring team received the coveted wooden spoon – this time awarded to our friends from Stowlangtoft, who took it all in good spirits!

A special thank you to Stowmarket Golf Club for their warm hospitality and for serving up delicious sausage and chips, which kept everyone fuelled for the evening’s brain-teasers.

Events like these are all about community, fun, and friendship – and last night was a perfect example of that. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

We’re proud to announce that Peter Smith has been appointed as the new President of Stowmarket Lions Club, officially taking the reins at our recent Hand Over Dinner. Peter brings a wealth of dedication, experience, and community spirit to the role, and we’re excited for the year ahead under his leadership.

👏 In recognition of his outstanding service, Peter was also named Lion of the Year—a well-deserved honour for his tireless work as our Club Safety Officer. His commitment to ensuring the wellbeing of our members and the smooth running of our events has been second to none.

A massive thank you to everyone who took part in this year’s Stowmarket Lions – Lion Ride! The wind certainly made for a tough challenge, but our incredible riders pushed through with determination and spirit.

After battling the blustery conditions, riders and supporters were treated to some truly delicious homemade cakes, along with generous donations from Finneys Bakery in Needham Market—thank you for your support! 🍰

We also want to extend a thank you to our sponsors, Brightside Stowmarket (Brightside Wealth Management) and Steve Francis of Stowmarket (Steven R Francis & Co), whose support helped make this event possible.

While we’re still counting the final amount raised, one thing is certain—every pedal stroke and every donation will go towards supporting St Nicholas Hospice Care and Lions Charities, making a real difference in our community.
