On 18th June 2022, at the Changeover Dinner held at Stowmarket Golf Club, Lion President Peter Smith handed over to incoming President Andrew Bingham. An excellent meal was followed by a short address from the outgoing President during which he presented awards before passing the chain of office to the new President.

Lion President Andrew Bingham introduced his new team and set out his aims for his presidential year.

The District Governor’s Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Poppy Bingham by Past President Kevin Parker to recognise her brilliant achievement raising funds for the Suffolk Young Carers.

We have had so much fun in the past with running these events.  In two weeks’ time we will be running another pig race at the Stowmarket British Legion.  The races are battery operated pigs with the batteries being replaced between each race.  This excellent event takes place on May 7 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm.

We are in the town again this year collecting money for Marie Curie.  We have been doing this by coordinating with the local organiser, and by providing schedules and volunteers from the club for many years.

This is the first year that we will be able to collect via contactless.  If you don’t carry change around with you then please talk to one of the collectors who will direct you to which collector has the card machine .

This year we have sun, which is a blessing as it has been cold in previous years.  This is one of our Lions in the sun helping out.
