What a brilliant night last night, Stowmarket Lions attended the Stowmarket Town Awards and our very own Dave Thomas won the Community hero award. It was a fantastic promotion for the Lions Club of Stowmarket with the Town awards team recognising all the work that the all the members do in our community but awarding Dave for what he does himself in our local community. Dave was very gracious accepting the award but was very keen to point out the award was for the club.

The lions were also mentioned as Poppy Bingham won the Young person of the year award for her work with Suffolk young carers, she thanked the Lions club for introducing her to Suffolk young carers.

We are really please to announce an evening of music in the marquee at Bacton fair field.

It was a great success

On 18th June 2022, at the Changeover Dinner held at Stowmarket Golf Club, Lion President Peter Smith handed over to incoming President Andrew Bingham. An excellent meal was followed by a short address from the outgoing President during which he presented awards before passing the chain of office to the new President.

Lion President Andrew Bingham introduced his new team and set out his aims for his presidential year.

The District Governor’s Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Poppy Bingham by Past President Kevin Parker to recognise her brilliant achievement raising funds for the Suffolk Young Carers.
