A Walk in the Park

This time last year Stowmarket Lions Club celebrated their 41st anniversary and the gradual easing of Covid restrictions with a socially distanced walk around Stowmarket Recreation Ground .
The event was very successful so we will repeat the event on Sunday 18th September 2022. This will be an occasion for a little light exercise, to meet up with friends and to enjoy the delicious cakes and hospitality of the Salvation Army Cafe.
Participants are invited to walk as many ‘laps’ as they wish and to seek sponsorship for the distance or laps covered.
The distance around the Recreation Ground is 907 yards so 81 laps will cover the significant distance of 41 miles, if you’re that energetic! More modestly, 10 laps will cover just over 5 miles – or 41 furlongs in old money. Refreshments will be available from the Cafe on the Rec at the town end of the Rec.
We hope to see as many Lions and others as possible striding out and raising sponsorship for the Lions charity fund or simply relaxing with a drink and cake whilst watching others.
